Save the Date for the 2026 Celebrating Home & Community Gala

Join us on October 8, 2026 to celebrate Breaking Ground's 36 years of service to New York City and to honor a trio of individuals who have committed their careers to building a better New York City through enterprise and good governance.

Each year, the Celebrating Home & Community Gala raises vital funding to strengthen Breaking Ground's outreach and housing programs serving New Yorkers who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

At a time when supportive and affordable housing is so desperately needed, Breaking Ground continues to develop new projects with big impact. We have over 2,000 units of permanent housing in our development pipeline, including 1,000 apartments within adaptive reuse projects that will bring units online up to 3 years faster than new construction. People experiencing homelessness on the City's streets face extreme obstacles to overcoming a terrible condition, foremost among them the lack of a dignified and secure place to call home. Breaking Ground’s interventions help homeless New Yorkers attain that essential dignity and security for themselves and for our city.
