Collection and Use of Website Visitors’ Personal Information
Breaking Ground strives to respect our stakeholders in every possible way, including by protecting their privacy. We accomplish this through multiple approaches. When it comes to privacy of donor information, Breaking Ground collects email addresses and other personally identifiable data about visitors when such data is voluntarily submitted on this site. All such information is stored in a manner appropriate to the nature of the data.
All online donations to Breaking Ground are processed through a secure site, which collects information as necessary to accept the donation and to send donation receipts. This information may include a donor’s name, address, telephone number, email address, amount of gift, credit card type and number, and credit card security code.
Breaking Ground may only use contact information to send donors updates on organizational activities, appeals, and invitations to Breaking Ground events.
Payment and personal contact information will in all instances be kept strictly CONFIDENTIAL and will NOT be shared with any other party or mailing list.*
We do not attempt to track individuals in any manner and we do not link the web information to any other databases with the purpose of identifying individual website users. We do not track IP addresses or deposit any “cookies” in an attempt to gain information about website users.
How We Keep Your Personal Information Safe
Breaking Ground uses Raiser’s Edge fundraising software from Blackbaud to store and maintain donor and donation information. This software is hosted on Windows 2008 R2 server with database(s) on Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 in a highly secure and redundant facility with no access from external networks. All Raiser’s Edge data meets Advanced Encryption Standards.
To ensure safety of donor information, Raiser’s Edge access requires the approval of the Vice President of External Affairs and is limited at all times to prevent any unauthorized access.
If you wish to review your personal contact information at Breaking Ground and to request corrections, please contact Beth Carmody, Director of Communications, at 212.389.9398 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
