Boston Road Tops Out

Common Ground recently marked the topping out of Boston Road, a 154-unit permanent supportive residence currently under construction at 1191 Boston Road in the Bronx.

Designed to help improve the lives of high cost users of health care through the use of New York State Medicaid Redesign Team financing, Boston Road will provide a secure, affordable home for formerly homeless single adults with preference for seniors, many living with HIV/AIDS, special needs, and low-income working adults from the South Bronx community. The ground floor will offer considerable common areas, offices for supportive services, and personal enrichment space including an exercise room, computer lab and landscaped terrace.

Boston Road will be Common Ground’s third Bronx residence under our management. Once opened in 2015, we will have more than 400 affordable apartments in the borough for occupancy by low-income working New Yorkers and formerly homeless adults. This new $47 million project - designed by Alexander Gorlin Architects and constructed by MountCo, Inc. – will also be a model of environmental sustainability with Enterprise Green Communities certification.
